In-Shop Coating

JTC, Inc. operates New Mexico’s most advanced fully enclosed and environmentally controlled in-shop blasting and coatings facility. All blasting and coating operations are overseen by multiple NACE certified coating inspectors.

Blasting:

Our blast room measures 25’ wide, 80’ long and 22’ high. We use a steel grit mixture for blast media that can be recycled up to 150 times. The system is powered by twin 200 hp electric screw compressors and 6,000 gallons of compressed air receiver storage. Moisture is removed three times before actually exiting any of up to four #8 blasting nozzles. NACE 1/SSPC SP 5 surface prep is easily achieved and is the norm at our facility.

Coatings:

We have shipped hundreds of loads of freshly painted and inspected steel from our in-shop facility. JTC, Inc. has performed thousands of hours of NQA-1 (nuclear quality assurance level one) projects.

Our paint booth was custom made by Spray Systems Incorporated. It measures 100’ long, 25’ wide and 22’ high. The booth has two heated make-up air units that jointly deliver up to thirteen million btu’s of heat for both process painting and heat curing. Additionally, the booth can be fully divided to allow for multiple (curing/painting) operations simultaneously. We use and maintain multiple state of the art coating inspection devices.
